Eastleigh Rotary collects Shoeboxes for Rotary Christmas Shoebox Appeal

.

Just wanted to say a very big THANK YOU to all who have helped Eastleigh Rotary in their annual Christmas Shoebox Scheme.

Every year, Eastleigh Rotary, alongside 70+ other Rotary Clubs in our District, volunteer to collect filled shoeboxes, to be sent to disadvantaged children in various countries around the world. This year, boxes will be going to children in Albania, Montenegro, Moldova and Romania.

Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, many of us have been unable to visit our local schools to share this project with our children, so the final number of shoeboxes will be less.

However, as the song goes, “when the going gets tough, the tough get going” and we, at Eastleigh Rotary, did just that. So, Thank You, to all who helped to make our collection a success.

The individual, decorated boxes, have been checked, sorted and packed into cartons, ready for delivery and although the 2ndlockdown has meant delivery will be delayed, there will be many children receiving a Christmas present, thanks to your generosity.
