‘Warming Up the Homeless’
Bexhill Rotary Club members along with the Mayor Councillor Lynn Langland collected from around 40 households for the first time this January in specific support of Warming up the Homeless. Rotary President Stephen White said 'the generosity of the Bexhill public is absolutely fantastic, generously donating food and warm clothing much needed to help those less fortunate and we are delighted to be able help this very worthy cause'.
Warming up the Homeless is one of the biggest homeless charities locally and they feed, clothe and support in excess of 500 men, women and children. They provide 500 breakfast packs a week as well as hot meals via their home cooks which are given out during Outreach. Like most charities fund raising activities have been severely restricted this year down 80% while demand is up 60% (30 more potential homeless notified today1!). CEO Trudy Hampton said 'Thank you so much - we are absolutely delighted with the amount of food and other donations collected today. It is a wonderful coalition between our two charities'.
Anyone wishing to donate to the homeless or foodbank can make contact via Mayor Councillor Lynne Langland's Facebook page or call her / leave message on 07895545111
