Our virtual Ironman

Shaun meets the challenge

Shaun's training challenge

You will recall that our Shaun Good completed the Copenhagen Ironman competition in 2019. Shaun’s achievement was particularly impressive as, up until two years ago, he had a fear of the water (having had a traumatic experience as a child) and one third of Ironman events is swimming.

There have been no Ironman events since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic but it has not stopped Shaun’s athletic endeavours. He completed a 100 kilometer indoor rowing challenge in the month of November and a demanding 10 day training schedule: 10.5 km swim, 263.5 km bike and 46.5 km run.

At 56 Shaun is a shining example to fellow Rotarians in how to overcome adversity even if his fitness regime is a little extreme for most.
