The Bike Ride Routes

Three cycling routes to choose from

There are three cycle routes from which to choose - a three hour leisure ride (including cafe stops), a demanding all day epic, or something in between - all through our wonderful North Somerset countryside.  Either just enjoy the ride or use it to get sponsorship from your friends and family to raise money for your favourite charity.

All of the rides start and finish at the Scotch Horn Leisure Centre in Nailsea.  Car parking is available at or close to the Scotch Horn Leisure Centre.

Please note that the event is for fun only, is not competitive and will not be timed.

The rides for the 2022 event are:

25K Cycle Ride.  A 25 kilometre ride heading towards Bristol before an uphill stretch through Ashton Court, then along to Lower Failand before returning via Belmont Hill. 89% on tarmac. There are a few junctions where extra care will be needed. Total elevation 308 metres, maximum gradient 7.9%.

50K Cycle Ride.  A 50 kilometre ride which is soon into into the surrounding farmland before heading down the A370 from Congresbury before turning down country lanes into Puxton and Banwell, then returning via Summer Lane and East Rolstone. 91% paved, mainly on minor roads but there are a few junctions where extra care will be needed.  Total elevation 248 metres, maximum gradient 9.8% (but feels less).

100K Cycle Ride. A delightful 100 kilometre ride down to Chew Magna, skirting Chew Lake and proceeding through Ubley, Ston Easton & Radstock to the Two Tunnels then returning along the Bath/Bristol cycle track to Nailsea. 98% paved, 811 metres of climbing. The route is mainly on minor roads but there are a few junctions where extra care is needed.

All routes have recommended cafes etc where you can stop for refreshment.

You will be provided with a map, turn by turn instructions and a GPX route to download to a navigation device if you have one.
