We are delighted to confirm that amateur boxing is planned to return in June under the Boris roadmap and have already booked our much-missed tournament for Friday 20th May 2022 at the Brackenbury Sports Centre, Felixstowe. An earlier return was considered but didn’t prove to be viable. However, we are certainly going all out to make the 2022 event a very special night.
The boxers are returning to their gyms on the 12th April for fitness work only, and sparring will be permitted in June, but there will only be a short time for training before the season ends and with competitions planned to return September / October. We will be visiting clubs in the Suffolk area upon their return as it will be good to catch up with the youngsters. Lockdown has obviously been a very difficult time for them and they will need all the encouragement we can give.
more We are thrilled to announce the George Baker Group as the headline sponsor of our sell-out 2022 Charity Boxing Event. This is our biggest fundraising event of the year and it’s great to have such a big name in logistics as a supporter.
