The results of the 3rd July Pigeon Racing Associaton are in! 

First five birds home were,
1st.  177 minutes 19 seconds.
2nd.  181 minutes 11 seconds.
3rd.  181 minutes 19 seconds.
4th.  181 minutes 21 seconds.
5th.  182 minutes 39 seconds.

Prize money is on the first three places,
1. Ticket No. 1112  £100 with 177 minutes 20 seconds.
2. Ticket No. 1127 £25 with 181 minutes 12 seconds.
3. Ticket No. 860 £10 with 181 minutes 18 seconds.

Winners have been notified by telephone.

The winner was the person who made the best guess of how much time it will take for the fastest pigeon to get home to Burton Lazars from Blandford, Dorset, a distance of 139 miles.  A pigeon can fly 30-35 mph with a good head of wind and up to 60 mph with a tail wind. 


The pigeons are owned and will be raced by Alistair Ewart of Burton Lazars who is a member of the Royal Pigeon Racing Association, which has been going since 1896. 

A total of £1,065 was raised!  Thank you to everyone for your support.
