Disbursement of Funds

Wed, Jun 22nd 2022 at 12:50 pm - 2:50 pm

Surplus funds dispersed to needy causes

The Club meeting on 22nd June held in the New Golf Club was  chaired by President Colin Mitchell  who informed members and guests  that despite the restrictions posed by the Covid pandemic the club had been able to financially support a number of both local and international causes throughout the year.

Donations from funds raised at different events run by the club and from financial resources retained had been made to Ukraine Red Cross  support their activities in Ukraine during the current conflict, to the St Andrews Foodbank and to ”Hop on a Bus”  a project promoted  by a Rotary Club in Pennsylvania represented on Wednesday by Meg Ramey a former Rotary scholar at the University of St. Andrews who confirmed to the meeting that after two years fundraising by her club to raise a matching Rotary International Grant the order had now been placed for a rolling classroom bus which would provide educational opportunities to children in Liberia.

President Colin was also able to make funding presentations to two charities whose representatives attended the meeting.
