Churston Golf Day 4 June 2021

Generating Funds for charity starts up again

A successful day in the sunshine for this team

On June 4th Preston Rotary Club held it's Annual Charity Golf Day at Churston Golf Club.

The number of teams was limited by Covid to 18, but we lost 4 teams , 1 to Covid and 3 helping at the G7 Summit.

After a wonderful day in the sunshine the results were:

3rd - Enigma, 2nd -AB Coaches and this year's winners were Denmans. Their team is pictured at the start.

Overall the event raised £1400 for Rotary charities. This year's President's charity was The Purple Angels Dementia Awareness Campaign based in Preston.

They will receive £500 which will go towards the reopening of their Memory Cafes.

A separate draw arranged by Rotarian Steve Dark raised £205 for the Ricky Grant Day Centre at Torbay Hospital. This was in memory of Mike Quarterly of Denmans who was a regular at the Golf Days, and who passed away leaving his wife Amanda and a young family.
