Silver Propeller Challenge

A watery challenge to raise money for a clean drinking water charity.

Silver Challenge

THE SILVER PROPELLER CHALLENGE

Following Robin’s highly successful River Aire Canoe Challenge, Sidekicks members, who are always up for a challenge, started looking at other water-based endeavours.

The Silver Propeller Challenge seemed to fit the bill……despite the fact that canoes do not generally have propellers!

The Challenge is set by the Inland Waterways Association. It involves visiting, by boat (including canoes), a number of less frequented places on the inland waterways and exploring some of the more far-flung reaches of the network of canals and rivers across Scotland, England and Wales.

Visiting a minimum of 20 of the places listed by the Inland Waterways Association results in the award of a Silver Propeller Challenge Plaque.

The Challenge will be undertaken by canoe and led by David Joliffe and Robin Naylor. However, there will be opportunities for other Rotarians to be involved.

We are doing this to raise money for Aquabox. "Since its formation in 1992, Aquabox has sent more than 110,000 aid boxes to more than 50 countries around the world, helping hundreds of thousands of people in times of crisis." You can sponsor us here.
