Penzance athlete aiming for gold

Mount’s Bay Rotary has stepped in with a training grant to help Abi reach her potential in the Paris Paralympics in 2024

Abi

After experiencing a physical assault and extreme bullying, Abi found sport in 2015. In just two years she was representing the UK at the World Dwarf Games in Canada. Since then, she has gone from strength to strength and is now ranked No. 1 in the Field Disciplines of Shot Put and Discus. She also throws the odd Javelin as well! Abi is not resting on her laurels, however: she has her sights set on the Paris Paralympics in 2024 as her next target.

Getting the right training and coaching is always difficult and expensive here in the far south west, so Mounts Bay Rotary has stepped in with a training grant to help Abi to go “Faster – Higher – Stronger” and reach her potential.

Go Abi, you are an inspiration to us all!

We have money available in the form of grants to support local charities and community groups. To apply, call into the Rotary Shop in Market Jew Street for a form, or message us on this site.
