The impact assessments will be an integral
part of the Seeds of Social Action
Initiative for the club as well as for the young person’s project aimed at measuring
the effectiveness of the grants provided and the projects that they were funded.
Simple evidence based procedures will be designed by Rotaract in conjunction
with the club to monitor and evaluate the progress
of all the activities involved and to ensure that the goals are realistic
and are being met. There are three key areas that will be assessed:
Internal Impact
The internal impact assessments will evaluate how effective the initiative is and how it is helping young people. Once the club’s initiative is up and running, the Rotaract impact assessment team will gather opinions from young people who were informed about the availability of the grant. The team will ask why they did or did not opt to apply and what they would change.
External Impact
The external impact assessment will monitor the progress of the young people’s projects.
The club will liaise with the young people about setting realistic goals and coming up with reasonable indicators for impact. Beneficiaries will be asked to populate a document about their goals, with the help of their mentor.
Personal Impact
The personal impact assessment will focus on each individual beneficiary and their experience running their project. It will gauge any new skills that young people have learned, any connections they have made, any networks they have joined, how the mentoring helped them along the way and anything else they consider to have helped their growth.
