Polio - Like Father Like Son

Mon, Nov 15th 2021 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Hybrid Meeting

This week, our speaker is James Carmichael, Author and Rotarian.  He will talk to us about his personal experience of polio - so no facts and figures - just a chat about some of the issues that he and his father had to deal with. His father contracted polio as a boy - and so did James  His father's left leg was paralysed as was James. But his father didn’t have the benefit of the NHS - nor of the therapies and treatments that were put in place during the 1940’s.

Vote of Thanks - Ian Dickson

Our meetings are now taking place in a “Hybrid” format. The first part takes place at the hotel starting at 7pm when we meet for a meal. The second part starts at 8pm and takes place online using Zoom. This is when the speaker will make his or her presentation.
If you would like to join us at the Online part of our meeting then please contact our Secretary Andy Slater (Tel: 01294 275563) who will be able to provide the joining instructions.
