Shoebox Appeal
This is a National Rotary affiliated project to collect and donate to those in need in Eastern Europe.
At the end of 2022 our thoughts turned to Christmas and sending shoe boxes to people far less fortunate than ourselves. Despite the situation in Eastern Europe, the Rotary Shoebox Scheme has continued to operate successfully with filled boxes being sent to Romania and Moldova, distribution being overseen by Rotary clubs on the ground.
Although the emphasis this year was on boxes for households (as there are a great many refugees and family groups) the boxes were filled for babies, children and teenagers, all of which will be gratefully received.

Christmas 2022 the club worked alongside Southport Links Rotary Club to support their Christmas shoebox appeal and 100 shoeboxes were filled with gifts for children of all ages to be sent out to Eastern Europe (Romania, Moldova, Belarus and Ukraine) by members and friends of Ormskirk Clocktower Rotary Club.
Two successful visits were made by some of our members to the central depot in Oldham in April 2023 and 90 shoe boxes were packed on each occasion.
