International Night 2022

This year’s International Night, on 24 February at the Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club, was a great evening for all and a tremendous fundraiser. The £3,500 raised will provide new limbs for over 60 people in India and neighbouring countries.

From drain pipes and tyres to 3D printing

After an excellent curry buffet, the main event of the evening was an inspirational talk about the work of the Rotary Jaipur Limb Centre. Margaret Web, a driving force within this exceptional charity, told us how local materials and skills are used to create artificial limbs for some of the poorest people in India. We learned how, over the decades, the methods and materials had progressed from crafting drain pipes and tyres to 3D printing. But the need remains the same.
