Our Associate Membership Scheme

What the scheme is about

On occasion we need help in running our events.

There are many people in our community who don’t have the time or inclination to be full Club members – but want to help when they can.

You are working, you have a family, you have pressures on your time – but you also believe you can do a couple of hours every now and then to help good causes.

What we have to offer is an Associate Membership – there are no fees and no obligations - we just ask Associates to help us when they have the time to do so.

You give us your contact details – we will email you a couple of times a year with details of our upcoming events.  You email us if there is an event you would like to help us with and we will organize you into our Rotas.

On occasion we will email specially because we have a particular difficulty in manning an Event and we need help.

Anyone helping at our events is covered by Rotary Insurance, and you will be lent a tabard and given appropriate instruction.

We will also tell you about our Social Events and you can come along and meet us in an informal setting if you want to.

We promise to treat your contact details with care and only share them amongst our Members and Associates for proper purposes. You can withdraw from the scheme at any time and we will delete your details forthwith.

What might you be involved in

The Great Ilkley Duck Race  We need people who can go up and down the River Bank – steep, perhaps rocky,  in places – carrying big bags of Ducks. People who can go in the water and catch them. People who can lift bags of Ducks over the bridge parapet and throw them in the River.

Do you have a wetsuit ?  Waders ? a Kayak ?  that would be great - but anyone with Wellies could help

Collecting Bicycles and Tools etc We run a Recycling day in Ilkley Car Park. We collect unused Bicycles for refurbishment – also hand tools, sewing machines, rucksacks, trainers etc. Can you heave bikes around and load them into a Van ?  

Could you help with a local collections service when people can't get their old bikes down to us ?

Other Things...   Perhaps you sing, or play an instrument and can take part in our Christmas Carol collections round restaurants in Ilkley  -  or perhaps you are a Graphic Designer and can help with poster creation etc . Tell us what skills you have and how you might be able to help.
