Supporting Pride Awards at St Michael's Hospice in Basingstoke

This afternoon, Basingstoke Deane Rotary was invited to hand out certificates and badges to the volunteers at St Michael's Hospice (North Hampshire)who have been nominated for a PRIDE award and to the overall winner, Baxter, seen here with member Neil Francis. Baxter is a therapy dog at the hospice and as you can imagine, is very popular. He not only helps patients but also families who are coming to terms with some difficult situations. While Baxter’s owner got a certificate snd a bottle of wine, Baxter was presented with some special doggy treats. This was the first Volunteer Award sponsored by Basingstoke Deane Rotary and a £50 Amazon voucher was also handed to the winner. Afterwards we were treated to an unexpected afternoon tea. Yum!
