This week our speaker was Simon De laat, from East Anlian Air Ambulance.

He was an excellent speaker. EAAA started in 2001 and only ran on a Friday. 2010 Doctors started to be onboard. They can fly 24/7
The ambulance now takes patient from scene to A&E. 4 counties are covered.
in 2021 they undertook 2632 missions in the 4 ton helicopter. They cannot land on the hospital helipad after 9pm, they then land at airport and then use normal ambulance .from there.
He then told us of the differences with suspected heart attack, doing the wrong thing could be
CPR is used in his instance if they are breathing. If the patient has no pulse and not awake then it is cardiac arrest then CPR should not be used and a defribullator . Angina is the 3rd heart condition, where the pain is not constant.
That knowledge could save a life.
