Response to the developing crisis in Ukraine

Hinckley Ambion Rotary Club has collected the amazing sum of £13,000 in two weeks for Ukrainian refugees. The money has been raised by a combination of donations from individuals and businesses together with collections at Hinckley’s Tesco supermarket.

This is being sent to Rotary clubs in Poland near the Ukrainian border. All Rotarians are volunteers so 100% of the money will be used to feed, clothe and house the refugees fleeing from their homeland and Russian aggression.

Ann Jones, president of the club, said: “The whole club has contributed to raising this money for Ukraine and know it will be used well. We also aim to help people in need locally and recently delivered £500 of groceries to our local food bank. Rotary is about service nationally and internationally and we are proud to have helped in both areas”.
