Heswall Primary School -butterfly garden

Members of Mid Wirral worked with Heswall Primary School staff and school council to create 2 raised plant beds to attract butterflies

Members of Mid Wirral obtained a grant from Rotary District 1180 to assist in funding the creation of these raised plant beds  and benches in the school grounds during the summer of 2022. Additional funds were provided by school  PTA and Mid Wirral club members to complete the project funding.

Great fun was had by members in planting vegetables and flowers with the school council children prior to the offical opening of the butterfly garden. Ongoing support will be provided by District Environmental officer to assist the school staff and children in nurturing this as an addition to the school's keen awareness of environmental matter in their community and the role that butterflies play in the pollination of our flowers and food.
