Lancashire Evening

Celebrating Lancashire

Carnforth Rotarians enjoyed a wonderful Saturday evening with family and friends at Carnforth Cricket Club. The Brief Encounter team provided a very tasty Lancashire hotpot followed by a delicious crumble and custard before the entertainment began. Rotarian George Wilson read the proclamation, then MC, Gillian Bromley, recited the sad tale of Albert and how he was eaten by Wallace the Lion at Blackpool Zoo. However, the fabulous Garstang Ukele Band soon had the audience in high spirits with their music, songs and joking, returning for an encore after the raffle.

Before the evening was over Gillian recited Part 3 in the saga of Albert, but, that's another story.

A fantastic evening and many thanks to everyone involved and Andrew and family for setting everything up so beautifully.
