75th Charter Dinner

19th November, 2022

75 years of serving the community

The Rotary Club of Blairgowrie celebrated the 75th anniversary of its Charter with a Dinner in Blairgowrie Golf Club, in the presence of District Governor Ken McLennan and representatives from our “mother” club Perth, “daughter” club Pitlochry and “granddaughter” club Aberfeldy. Members, guests and friends had a great evening, with music during the meal from Austin Wilkie, and a very entertaining after dinner talk from Douglas Wares. DG Ken proposed the Toast to the club, and wished them 75 more successful years. He then surprised everyone by presenting the club with the award for highest per capita donation in District to the Rotary Foundation. The Foundation is Rotary International’s Charitable arm, which underpins all Rotary's good works. Last year the Foundation spent $350 million, including $150 million on polio eradication. The more money donated by a District, the more it can claim in grants to help fund local or international projects.
