Rotary Clubs collect for victims of earthquake

£2078 raised - enough for 4 Shelterboxes

Members of Skipton Craven and Skipton Rotary came together in February to collect for the victims of the Turkish and Syrian earthquake. The collection which stretched over three days resulted in a total of £2078.

With additional donations from both clubs, members have been able to purchase four Shelterboxes which include shelter kits, tents, kitchen utensils, solar lights, mosquito nets, water filters, water carriers and blankets.

The public’s generosity has been outstanding,’ said David Newall, President of Skipton Rotary. ‘And a huge thank you to Morrison’s supermarket for allowing us the opportunity to collect,’ said Geoffrey Maldwyn-Jones, President of Skipton Craven.
