The head teacher Emma Bamber got the whole school of almost 700 children to attend a special assembly where they were introduced to the Rotary Club of Preston, including the President Jim Palmer , Peter Bosley, who had judged the competition (with the assistance of Martyn Cannan), and the incoming chair of the CVY Committee Mike Ford.
A prize was awarded for each year group, except Year 4 where the judges awarded a dead heat, so both children got the full prize.
In the future Peter Bosley explained that they would be able to take part in the UK wide competitions not just in photography, but Young Chef, Young Writer etc.
