Nepal school rebuilding after earthquake

After a devastating earthquake in Nepal the school in Pokhari was badly damaged and required funds for rebuilding

Pokhari School, Nepal, South Asia

After a devasting earthquake had brought education to an abrupt end in a remote part of Nepal, the Melton Belvoir Rotary Club decided to raise funds to help rebuild a primary school in Pokhari.

Whilst our big fundraiser for 2020, a concert, was cancelled due to Covid, we were able to keep some money flowing and with the cooperation of the Gurkha Welfare Trust the school has now been substantially rebuilt.

However, they still have very little in the way of resources and the pupils have to work on the floor as there are no desks, chairs or tables.

The Rotary club have been generously donated a signed Leicester City Football shirt for auction on ebay to raise funds. Please take a look at this shirt which has been authenticated as signed by the First Team players or alternatively donate funds to our charity appeal for Pokhari School.
