On Friday 24th November, Carnforth Rotary held their Junior Schools' Choir Competition. The choirs sang the set piece 'There was a Star' plus a piece of their own choice, with a Christmas theme. The four choirs which entered were, St Luke's, Slyne-with-Hest Primary School, Storth Primary School, Bolton - le - Sands Primary School and Carnforth Christ Church Primary School.
All of these choirs were really well rehearsed and they sang so well that the judges had great difficulty in arriving at the final placings. While the judges deliberated Rotarian George Wilson, the MC, had the choir members and the audience singing the 12 days of Christmas. The 1st place was awarded to Carnforth Christ Church Primary School, Storth Primary School was placed 2nd and Slyne St Luke's 3rd. All four schools were awarded a cash prize to be used to promote music education in their school.
Many thanks to DG Pam Holgate for attending this lovely event.
