Get Involved

There are several ways in which you can get involved with Swanage and Purbeck Rotary. Read on to find out more

Get Involved!

  Individual Membership

Whether you are still working, semi-retired or fully retired, if you can spare some time to help make a difference to the local community, we'd love to hear from you.

We're keen for you to get involved as much as you feel able to commit to, whether that's helping our Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) to run an event or a community programme, helping with marshalling activities or in any other way.

Individual membership currently costs £120 per annum, part of which goes towards the cost of insurance and the running of the group.

For more information, please complete this form.

 Corporate Membership

This form of membership allows an organisation or company operating in our area to become a member of our Group and to appoint individuals who can attend meetings, serve on projects and vote on matters of business. The organisation itself decides who attends our events, although typically they will include a senior member of the organisation.

Corporate membership involves an agreement with our Group that the organisation will fund or subsidise the membership dues for the employees who attend.

 Associate Membership

If you can't afford the time to join Swanage & Purbeck Rotary as a full member of the group, but you still want to support us and help make a difference in the local community as and when you can, that's what our Associate Membership is about.

There is no charge for the first year, which offers an opportunity for you to see what Rotary is all about and to decide whether it is something that you would like to play a bigger part in, and if you take part in any of the events run by the CIO, you will automatically be covered by its insurance arrangements.

  Friends of Rotary

If you would simply like to volunteer to help our CIO at events as and when you can, but can't or don't wish to join as an Individual, Associate or Corporate member of the group, we would still be delighted to have your help.

Many people would like to be involved with Rotary without becoming a formal member of the group, choosing instead to be a 'Friend'. We rely heavily on our 'Friends' for assistance with our varied programme, including the CIO's events ranging from the Annual Community Summer Fête and December's Santa Sleigh to the very popular Young Musician competition and Silver Saturday.

We produce a quarterly newsletter for our Friends of Rotary, which you can read here.
