Ipswich G&S Singers “Music for Everyone” concert

The Rotary Club of Felixstowe are delighted to welcome back to Felixstowe the popular Ipswich Gilbert & Sullivan Society Singers with their “Music for Everyone” concert programme, at 7.30pm on Saturday 22nd June at St John’s Church in Orwell Road.
As in previous years, the evening will feature varied material with many well-loved and popular melodies from classical to pop including music from television, stage and screen, humorous songs, serious songs, bizarre songs, combinations of different words/music and – of course – some Gilbert & Sullivan. The choir will be conducted by Musical Director Sue Wightman. All the songs will be performed by their soloists and ensembles, as well as the full chorus.
All funds raised from this performance will be for Felixstowe Rotary Club’s support of the Worldwide Polio Eradication programme which is matched 2:1 by the Bill Gates Foundation, thus tripling the amount raised. Tickets at £12 are available in advance from Russell Smith in Hamilton Road, Felixstowe or from Mark Davis on 07967 047924 and of course on the door. Refreshments will be available during the interval. We look forward to seeing you there.

We may be best known for our fundraising events in the local community. But it's not all work and no play and we also pride ourselves on our fun and fellowship. No wonder we have a steady stream of new members and some well deserved awards.

Thanks to Andrew Rowdon, Youth Development lead, we have an established programme including Community Cup with ITFC, Climbing with Clip ‘n Climb, and Kids Kitchen with the Yeo Group. Fun, but also an opportunity to build confidence in a new environment.

Although our activities are severely curtailed and we are longing to get back to some sort of normal, the life of the club continues online. Here we see the handover to our new President Dougie Pipe and (below) the induction of new member Jed Payce.

Each year we run five high profile fundraising events to support our work in the local community and beyond. Last Rotary Year (2022/23) we raised almost £60,000. That will take some beating!
