On Wednesday evening the members of Hunterston Rotary were delighted to add a final tribute to Amy Nolon’s amazing day by awarding her charity “the Community Hub of Hope” their February Community Award of £200.
Her day had started at Community Café on Stevenston Shore, meeting the Duke of Edinburgh and other community activists where she shared coffee and cake over a conversation with the duke. Amy and her mum, Jane, came along to the Hunterston Club meeting on Wednesday night to talk about the charity and her day’s adventure.
Amy founded the charity in May 2024. Her idea was to create a safe haven for anyone seeking support with mental health, battling loneliness, or nurturing their overall well-being. The group meet every second Sunday at St Mary’s Church Hall, 10 Ardrossan Road, Saltcoats, between 6-8pm to chat and enjoy a range of activities including arts and crafts. Anyone looking for some company and fellowship can drop in. The next meeting will be on Sunday 16th March.
In the short time the charity has been in existence, they have organised Bingo night, fundraisers in Saltcoats Bowling Club and a trip to Millport. They have also achieved Lottery Funding.
Hunterston Rotary congratulate Amy and her team and wish them further success in the future.
