Rotarians are People of Action

Members of Rotary use their knowledge of local issues to identify areas of need, then apply their expertise, skills and talents to develop activities and projects.  These activities can include a wide range of one-off events or ongoing projects.  Examples include helping support foodbanks, arrange Stroke Awareness Days, mentoring Rotakids, maintain small green spaces, weekly friendship groups, fundraise and much more. 

Below is a sample list of activities that clubs in Cumbria & Lancashire were involved in during July 2025.

Cumbria - Organising Rotating Wheels fundraising and community event, cars, tractors and other vehicles (West Lakeland), Coffee Morning (Appleby), Litter Picking (Cockermouth), Charity Golf Day (Kendal), Gardening with Purple Flowers (Workington), Dragon Boat Race (Kendal), Young Writers Competition (Whitehaven).

There are different avenues to joining Rotary.  You can join your local Rotary Club or join Rotary Direct where you do not belong to a local club.  Organisations are welcome to join as Corporate members.   Our Membership pages contain links to our local clubs and lots of information about Direct and Corporate Membership.
