On Sunday 25th July the Rotary Club of Chelwood Bridge celebrated the easing of lockdown with their annual charity Big Breakfast at Stanton Drew Parish Hall. Usually this event is held in a large marquee used for the Stanton Drew Flower Show but as this has been postponed to September a decision was made to still go ahead in July but use the village hall as the venue and this worked out very well. Some Covid restrictions remained in place for the protection of all attending with over 120 breakfasts being served during a 4 hour period by an enthusiastic team, comprising members of Chelwood Bridge Rotary and their satellite Club of Cam Valley. There was good support from the community including 70 members of local Classic and Historic Motor Club who traditionally have started their rally after the Big Breakfast. The morning enabled the Rotary Club to raise over £1200 which will be used to support local causes. Look out for details of the next Rotary event coming soon." Rob Taylor
