Current Projects and Ideas

What is International Service?

International Service covers our efforts to expand Rotary's humanitarian reach around the world.  It includes everything from emergency relief to areas hit by natural disasters to more long term efforts to develop communities' ability to help themselves.  The latter is achieved through projects which support the main Rotary focus areas of :

  • Peace and conflict prevention/resolution
  • Disease prevention and treatment
  • Water and sanitation
  • Maternal and child health
  • Basic education and literacy
  • Economic and community development
  • Safe housing
  • Eradication of polio - click here for news

Rotary Clubs in Cumbria and Lancashire are involved in a number of large ongoing projects.  News on some of these projects is available from the District and Club Projects link at the right of this page.

Other large projects are currently being put together.

If you want to develop a new project you might find some useful information under the Project Ideas link below.
