The Rotary Clubs of Keynsham and Chelwood Bridge were joint promoters of a highly successful choir concert at St Johns church, Keynsham on Saturday 17th May. The church was packed to capacity with an audience of over 400 to hear three remarkable choirs in a eclectic programme of music from the Hills and the Valleys. Our local choir, Mendip Male Voice Choir were in fine form, led by their conductor Jamie Knights and along side them the two Welsh choirs, Dunvant Male Voice Choir and Parti Llwchwr Ladies Choir, completed an incredible evening of song. Audience appreciation was demonstrated by enthusiastic applause and Parti Llwchwr performed an unscheduled encore, such was the pleasure in their performance.

These events demand a great deal of background work to stage successfully. Thanks are due to the choir members themselves and management of all three choirs, St Johns church  and all the staff. Particularly, thanks are due to the St John's Parish Office, the Coventry Building Society and the Post Office at Pensford for selling tickets on our behalf. Thanks also  members of the Rotary Clubs of Keynsham and Chelwood Bridge who promoted this concert and finally, thanks to you the general public, for supporting this marvellous event.

Proceeds from the concert are going to Childrens Hospice South West at Wraxall and other Rotary charities and during the evening a separate cheque for 800 was presented to CHSW  by Mendip MVC, representing proceeds from sales of their CD.

The Rotary International organisation is dedicated to supporting communities at home and responding to major disasters anywhere worldwide.
