Afternoon tea at Redborne School

Ampthill & District Rotarians, ladies from Inner Wheel and their friends took afternoon tea at Redborne School. This was part of the GCSE Hospitality course assessment. All profits went to 'End Polio Now' campaign

As part of their GCSE Hospitality course the students had to plan prepare and present a themed Afternoon Tea.

It was delicious!

One group had an Alice in Wonderland theme and the other 'At the  Seaside' complete with a deckchair and shells. One Rotarian, Peter Mears, was celebrating a special birthday, his 90th, which the students particularly enjoyed sharing with him.

We started with a selection of sandwiches, savoury pastries & cheese straws. Then came the scones with cream and jam, mini trifles, eclairs, strawberry shortbreads, lemon sponges, chocolate brownies etc.

The students asked for donations and said any profits can go to our End Polio Now campaign.

We thank them and their teacher Gemma Ives who waited outside the supermarket at 7.00 am that morning to purchase ingredients.
