Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Bassenthwaite

The Rotary Club of Bassenthwaite - small but perfectly formed!

We are located in the county of Cumbria the Northern part of the English Lake District. Our membership is drawn from a large area around Keswick and Cockermouth towns.

We are an active club, supported by fundraising in the local community. We meet at the the Wheatsheaf, Embleton on Monday evenings (see 'Meeting details'). We are always on the lookout for new members who would like to experience the social and service opportunities that Rotary can offer, and welcome visitors to our club.

Our local initiatives include outings for the elderly, sponsorship of young RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) candidates and support to youth groups, schools and local charities.

Our international initiatives include provision of humanitarian aid to Ukraine (mainly hospital equipment and support to a children's home) and sponsorship of school students in Kenya.

In addition we support various Rotary charitable initiatives including the Rotary Foundation.

We have an initiative to become even more involved with Rotary friends in UK and internationally, and have developed a relationship with the Rotary Club of Ludwigslust in Germany.

We are pleased to be twinned with the Rotary Club of Wishart in Australia.
