In 2023, as in past years we distributed a picture dictionary to every year 2 child in the HG4 Postal District.

Bonfire and Firework Display

Every year, the Community Bonfire is held near to 5th November at Ripon Racecourse. It is always a hugely successful event drawing several thousand excited Riponians. At the same time the profits are used to support selected charities within Ripon.

Ripon Rowels Walk (As devised by Les Taylor)

In 2012 the Rotary Club of Ripon Rowels agreed in conjunction with NYCC to maintain the signage on the walk and revise the original booklet written by Les Taylor. This we did in 2014.

A Talk by Anita Rayner, Leeds RC, Foundation Chairman District 1040. Anita Explained the current situation regarding where all the money goes and how to apply for grants in the current climate. Very informative presentation.

Annual Pancake Race

The Annual Pancake Race is organised by Ripon Festival Committee and Ripon Rowels help marshal the event.

Christmas hyacinth bulbs for local residents

Each year Ripon Rowels plants up over 100 bowls with Christmas flowering hyacinth bulbs for distribution in the Ripon community.

Canal Trip - 26th August 2014

Members on a narrow boat trip from Ripon canal basin through the locks and back. Congenial meal afterwards on a lovely evening.

2010 first year Rowels organised the Community Bonfire.

Sensory Garden Refurbishment 18.06.2011

The sensory garden was created for visually impaired to be able to sit and enjoy the smell of the various flowers and bushes.

Rotary Ocean Youth Trust

As part of Youth Development our Club has sent candidates on a weeks sailing with the Ocean Youth Sailing Trust.
