Our twin club Vlaardingen 80 based in the town of Vlaardingen just outside Rotterdam in the Netherlands visited us on one of the regular (approximately every 3 year) visits. We have been twinned with them for 30 years.
Blaize members attended their annual Walking Weekend at Longmynd (one of the H F Holidays properties) which is set in a wonderful elevated location above the town of Church Stretton.

Following on from the planting earlier in the year to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee club members again planted trees on behalf of the Forest of Bradford.
Environment Officer Alan Morrell suggested that we should plant some trees in conjunction with the Forest of Bradford initiative. President John Watson said this would be a good memento for the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.
The Rotary Club of Bradford Blaize once again held their annual Charity Golf Tournament at Ilkley Golf Club. This was the 22nd tournament and added £6,040 to the tally of £125,200 raised in previous years for charity for a running total of £131,240.
Environmental chairman Alan Morrell has been in contact with Ian Butterfield of the Forest of Bradford about planting further trees this autumn. He has also received photographs from him. Ian's response is shown below.
The annual walk around Wensleydale took place on Sunday the 29th of July.

The annual Presidents' Hello/Goodbye (when we traditionally celebrate the handover of office from one President to another) was a barbecue held at Alan and Marjorie's home.
Walk Leader - Alan Morrell - guided the walk from the White Lion at Kildwick.
R. Allan organised a long distance sponsored walk around the Cleveland Way. The main thrust of the walk was to raise money for Marie Curie Bradford Hospice but they raised more money than expected so some will go to other causes.
Adrian Berry volunteered to take over from Gerry Bindless as Walk Leader.

On 28.3.12 and 29.3.12 Blaize members aided by Ambassadorial Scholars Whitney Hough and Mizuki Takashi collected for the local Marie Curie Hospice at Tesco on Canal Road in Bradford.

Members of Blaize will again undertake their annual walking weekend - this time around the Malham area. Walks of 3 difficulty levels will be organised.

The Technology Tournament for senior schools in the Bradford / Keighley Area was held at Victoria Hall Keighley. This tournament was organised by all 10 Rotary Clubs in the Bradford Area and is in it's 5th year.
The walk on February 22nd was organised by Tim Ratcliffe as he has done a swop with Alan Morrell who could not manage to lead the February walk. Alan will lead the March walk.

This year's tournament was held at Victoria Hall Keighley. Bradford Grammar School were the winners of two categories and The Holy Family Catholic School Keighley won the third category.
This year's Christmas party was held at the President's home.
Robert Allan and John Moxon will lead the long distance walkers in an even longer walk along Hadrian's Wall.
As the Bradford Club was closed Atif organised a visit to the central mosque in Bardford followed by a visit to a local curry restaurant.

To celebrate the end of a successful Presidential Year and the start of a new Rotary Year the club held it's fellowship celebration at Rob and Ann's house.
