BURNS SUPPER
Thanks to all for making our Annual Burns Supper such an outstanding success
With the help of a record attendance of 107 we raised a
Grand Total of £740.10 in aid of the Haiti Disaster
A good time was had by all (especially Gary?)

Our Rotarian friends from twin club Cambrai-Fenelon were not so weary on the following day.
President Graham spent the whole of Saturday with them touring Oxford.

by Immediate Past District governor, Betty McClure at our informal pub night meeting on 4th August.

Introducing Graham Woodhouse, new President of Odiham & Hook Rotary Club for the Rotary Year 2009/10
Our new president received his chain of office at the Handover BBQ held on Tuesday 30th June in the garden of the outgoing President, John Hughes.
Graham then handed over his President-elect chain to Brian Bass, who is due to become our next President on 1 July 2010

26 May:- Hook Explorer Scouts thanked the Club for the donation which enabled them to buy their flag.

Welcome to New Member
Graham Deverill was inducted into membership of the club by District Governor, Betty McClure,
at the Club's 20th Anniversary Dinner in the Loch Fyne Restaurant, Farnham on 12th May.
At the same meeting, David Woodward was awarded a second Paul Harris Fellowship (2 saphire pin)for his ongoing service to the Club.
Also present were 7 other previous Club Presidents including our Founder President, Philip Brampton.

ODIHAM BUS PASS
The Odiham & Hook Bus Pass is a genuine Red Routemaster which is passed around at all our meetings to collect fares in aid of the Rotary Foundation Polio Plus appeal.
So far (20/5/09) it has collected £261.67 this year

Grand Handover Barbecue at Ian's with Free Champagne donated by our twin club RC Cambrai - Fenelon.

The instructions clearly said "Prick with a fork"!!

DICTIONARIES FOR KENYA
Working with World Flowers Limited, Hook, a major distributor of cut flowers to the British retail industry, Odiham and Hook Club have provided 18 Usborn Illustrated Dictionaries to the children of company employees attending the Oserian High School in Naivasha, Kenya. Dan Wiggins, Commercial Sales Director of World Flowers is seen presenting them on our behalf to the school Deputy Head Teacher accompanied by some of the children in their "smartest uniforms". Dan reported that "The teachers and children were delighted to receive the dictionaries and that Rotary had thought about them and their education.
