Welcome to the website of the Rotary Club of Rugby
Our Cl
ub was founded in 1922 and on July 22nd of that year the club was affiliated to Rotary
International in Britain & Ireland. The Rotary Club of Rugby was the 85th member of RIBI and met fortnightly for lunch. We are active in a wide range of service projects, both local and international, but also believe in enjoying ourselves through a varied fellowship programme of social and fund raising events. Find out more about us from our monthly bulletin -Touchline.
Rugby, the Home of Rugby Football, is located on the North East side of Warwickshire in the heart of England. If you would like to join us for lunch please contact us

Visit of District Governor David Butler
The visit of our District Governor, David Butler, to our last Club meeting, on 20th August, was a great success. David's easy and friendly manner was shown when, at one point during the meal, he wandered from table to table chatting and shaking hands. He had certainly done his homework because he was very well acquainted with the work we do and commented approvingly on a number of our planned events. His enthusiasm for the Rotary movement was strongly in evidence and his talk was truly inspirational. He telephoned me later that day to say how he had enjoyed the visit and how much he appreciated the warm welcome we gave him. He even complimented us on the high quality of the meal. Tools For Self Reliance
Remember John Wetherby's talk a few weeks ago, well the above flier identifies the sort of tools they would be grateful for. A group of us got together to plan out how the club could help out and we have procured the use of Lawrence Sheriff School's forecourt on the mornings of Saturday 23rd October and Saturday 30th October and will publicise locally to encourage people to bring in any tools they can spare. In that context we will need to man a couple of tables from 9.30 to 11.00am and from 11.00am to 12.30pm and are looking for volunteers, two per table per session and request that members contact me if they are prepared to help.
The group are also asking members to start collecting tools as indicated on the flier above as soon as possible and from whatever sources they think fit and give them to Mike Palmer, Chris Barney, Nick Morse, Brian Phillips or Frank Drewett.
Although we shall publicise locally we would ask all members to use and encourage whatever contacts they have to participate in the scheme. Thanking you all in anticipation
Frank Drewett
