About us

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Takeley.

We are a new, informal evening club, with the focus on friendship and volunteering in the community, rather than meals.  Our members come from a wide area around Takeley, e.g Bishops Stortford, Great Dunmow, Hatfield Broad Oak and Stebbing.

Our aims:

  • To promote friendships of like-minded people with a motto of 'service above self'.
  • To help our community
  • To promote peace and care of the environment

We meet fortnightly on a Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. at Little Canfield Community Hall to chat, have some light refreshments and plan our programmes. Sometimes we have an interesting speaker, occasionally we go out and have fun, such as Crazy Golf or Tenpin Bowling.

We are developing some regular community projects such as

  • Litter picks
  • Foodbank Collections
  • Open Gardens
  • Table Top sales
  • Quizzes
  • Race Night
  • Helping our environment
  • Young Environmentalist Competition for school age children

We volunteer to help local events such as Firework night, running events, fetes, warm spaces, Santa rounds.

New members are very welcome
