About us

First "Chartered" on 24th September 1937, not long after the creation of Rotary by it's founder Paul Harris in Chicago in 1905, Widnes Rotary continues into our 87th year with a small group of like-minded men and women who try and make a difference in both our local community and abroad.

Rotary is a volunteer organisation, one of the largest in the world, with 1.4 million members.

Many know us for the Christmas Float which has been going around the Widnes Streets since 1960, raising thousands of pounds for our local community.  Our 2023 float raised an amazing £20,333, thanks to the generosity of the Widnes public and local businesses.  Details of where donations are made can be found under 'What We Do'.

We are not just for Christmas though!  We meet once a fortnight and enjoy many other events, some of which are fundraisers like our Gala Dinner and Wine Tasting Evening, to name a few, but in the main we want to help others, following Rotary's motto 'Service above Self'.

For more information, please get in touch either by the 'contact us' link, or by emailing us at widnesrotary@gmail.com

Thank You!
