Welcome: from Club president David Heward
Thanks to the generosity of residents & visitors and with the assistance of community groups and individuals, Hemel Rotary’s Santa Sleigh has raised over £17,000 for distribution to local community organisations. If you missed the Sleigh when it came down your road or it didn’t visit your road (it was out for 24 evenings and did travel over 50 miles), and you would like to contribute to the collection, you can do so by texting RCHH25 £1 to 70070 (100% will be received by Hemel Rotary’s Trust fund).
If you wish to nominate a small local community organisation for a donation from the collection or want to know more about Hemel Rotary, please email email@example.com.
We care about Communities
The reason we say this is because we often get asked "What does Rotary do?" We are a diverse group of people, from all walks of life, who action local, national and international projects. The Rotary movement is big, with 34,282 clubs and over 1.2 million members worldwide. As you can imagine there are a lot of different projects going on.
Our Hemel Hempstead Club is involved in activities which concentrate largely on our local communities. These include young people, the elderly, and those who are disadvantaged. We raise funds in a variety of ways. We also help International communities when disaster strikes or where we think we can improve living conditions.
2016 saw the arrival of our Santa Sleigh, which has been made available to a range of community groups. In December 2018 our Santa activities raised over £17 000 to be distributed to local charities.
Do you want to know more about what we do? Do come along. Find out about membership and our Friends for Rotary scheme. There are many ways in our club you can get involved to be for your community.
