A group of five trees, three hawthorn and two rowan, were planted in
Slitrig Crescent this morning (Tuesday 28th June 2022) by SBC in conjunction with Hawick Rotary.
Rotary's application for £900 from SBC's Queen's Platinum Jubilee Fund
was successful and the location and the choice of the flowering and
colourful trees was made through discussion with Fiona Cameron and Grant
Turnbull of SBC.
The tree varieties are
3 x Hawthorn Crataegus media Paul's Scarlet and 2 x Rowan Sheerwater
Photos show Hawick Rotary's George Hogg, Ron Sutherland, Scott Elliot,
Linden Warburton and Jim Walker with the first of the trees being
planted, and Ron Smith placing the plaque recording the Jubilee event
