Archaeologist and heritage consultant Simon McCudden gave members an insight into the background to the finding of the Rose and Globe theatres in 1989 this week.

He outlined contributions made by people such as Sam Wanamaker and raised the key question of how much taxpayers should pay to help save Britain's heritage.

Daffodil bulbs have been planted on Rotary Way and a group has helped with tree planting at the Cathedral Choir School.

There is no meeting on the Tuesday following the dinner with partners at the Crown Inn, Roecliffe.

The AGM is held on April 27th.
