Home | International | 5 January 2011 - Dr Bryn Neal talks about his son's work in Uganda

Wed Jan 5th 2011

Dr Bryn Neal's talk outlined the charitable work carried out in the slum districts of Uganda.  Bryn is well-known to Amersham Rotarians and his wife Ann joined him for the session.  Their son and daughter-in-law are heavily involved in the work in Uganda, having been there for several years.

Bryn described projects in areas of need such as housing, education, health and sanitation and the focus on children (in Uganda, the estimated number of orphaned children is in excess of 2 million).  The overall goal is captioned “Slum Transformation” and a UK-registered charity – Revelation Life – now exists to fund the initiatives which aim to benefit Ugandan children and families.

The presentation was thought-provoking and reminded Club members of the awful conditions inflicted on children in Africa, whilst showing how love and attention to their needs could produce remarkable results.
