Helping People in Need

The Rotary Club of Hornchurch & Upminster was formed in 1946 and is a dual gender Rotary Club in Essex. Our mission attract the new visionaries, successful professional and business men and women from in and around Havering, who have a common agenda - to help people in need wherever they may be.

We recognised that Rotary International was the most far reaching and dynamic service organisation in the world, and we wanted to be part of it. Rotarians provide service at both local community and international levels addressing health-care needs, hunger and poverty, illiteracy, disaster relief, and environmental cleanups, to name just a few. Our members experience the fullfillment that comes from giving back time and energy to the community to help others.

In an increasingly busy and complex world, Rotary also provides one of the most basic human needs: the need for friendship and fellowship. It is one of two reasons why Rotary began in 1905. The first thing that you will notice about the Rotary Club of Hornchurch & Upminster is the closeness and friendship that exists between its members and their partners. The same friendship can be found throughout the world in all Rotary Clubs that you may visit.

We meet every Thursday at 12.30 for 13.00 at The Railway Tavern in Hornchurch, Essex. If you would like to visit then please contact our secretary first to make the appointment  btaffs@btinternet.com
