Home | What we do locally
We undertake projects locally, here are some of them, including:
* Donating Illustrated Dictionaries to year 2 at local schools
* Presenting a Dart Board to Kynock Court residents
With the end of the school year fast approaching, club members set out to present the Usborne Illustrated Dictionaries to Year 2 children at 7 local schools. This has become an annual project but this year, for the first time, the dictionaries have been given to Year 2, instead of Year 6, to enable them to use the books throughout their Junior years.
In all 264 children have been the recipients of these colourful books and we hope to continue with the tradition.
Residents at Kynoch Court were delighted to receive a new Dartboard from the Rotary Club of Stanford and Corringham. Playing three times a week over the years had taken its toll on the old board with darts dropping out or bouncing off.
Sprightly ninety one year old Ken Stanley, founder of the Colts football club at Bata, praised the work of Rotary and thanked our Rotary club for all that they do.
The Service Projects committee ensures that the goals are effective, building on our strength, and continuing to be challenging but achievable.
Wel will continue programmes such as OAP's Christmas lunch, Kids Out and Stroke Awareness, but also ensure that community based projects locally are identified and where possible help provided.
Fund raising continues to build on our strengths, these include the Golf Day, Christmas Sleigh and the race night for polio.
