WADEBRIDGE WHEELS 2012

After days and weeks of rain, the sun came out for our 16th Wadebridge Wheels, on Sunday 15 July at the  Royal Cornwall Show Ground in Wadebridge.   Many exhibitors welcomed the event after having had so many other similar events this year cancelled due to the poor weather.   As a result, preliminary estimates are that this was the largest show in the club's history, with many new enthusiasts coming to display their vehicles for the first time in Wadebridge.   Hopefully they will come again next year.

Parts of the display area had been affected by the previous wet weather, so that it was necessary, at the last minute, to cancel the parade of vehicles and also to reduce  the size of some of the sections and relocate clubs to firmer surface areas.   Hundreds of spectators with their children attended to view the variety of vehicles, enjoy the St. Minver Band, watch a Punch & Judy Show, use the children's entertainment section or partake of the number of catering vans and also to enjoy the fine sunny weather.

Club President, Ken Metcalfe, thanked all club members, their wives and friends who helped to prepare the Show Ground on Saturday and all who acted as stewards on the Sunday.   All exhibitors were thanked by Ken as they left the Show Ground.   Clive Robinson, who has chaired the Club's Wheels Committee for the past 4 years, and his committee are to be congratulated for their efforts over the past year.   The incoming chairman, Roy Vannoey, will have a hard act to follow!

Latest figures are that there were 650 exhibitors and in excess of 1500 members of the public.   So far, over
