Meeting 30 August 2012

Speaker Sponsor: Tim McCormack. On the door: Ken Candlish & Ken Fraser (standing in for Bill Paterson).

President Bob receives a pennant from visiting Rotarian Pudjadi Soekarno of the Jakarta club

Our speaker for the evening, introduced by Tim McCormack, was recent Club Member Nigel Warren who outlined his career and work challenges for us in an interesting and informal manner and responded to questions afterwards.

We also heard from our visitor from Indonesia, Pudjadi Soekarno of the Jakarta Club, about his experience of Rotary there.  His club was the first to form after a ban on Rotary by a previous president was lifted and he rather put us all to shame when he revealed he had 25 years Rotary membership without dropping below 100% attendance.  His informative account, given in fluent English, was very interesting and warmly received by the Club and Presient Bob was delighted to receive the Jakarta Club's pennant from Pudjadi.
