"Guernsey Against Sec Trafficking" is a Guernsey based charity raising local awareness of global sex trafficking and collecting funds to combat this epidemic.
As proud supporters of The A21 Campaign (http://www.thea21campaign.org/), funds that they raise will be distributed locally and to support the work of The A21 Campaign. The A21 Campaign are currently one of only a few international organizations addressing the human trafficking problem in Europe and the only organization providing victim assistance across international borders.
There are more people trapped in slavery right now than at any other point in history, with an estimated 27 million in bondage across the globe. Men, women, and children are being exploited for manual and sexual labour against their will.
The task of fighting this global atrocity is daunting at best and the statistics are staggering. Currently and tragically only 1-2 percent of victims are rescued, and only 1 in 100,000 traffickers are ever convicted.
Many may ask why even try to fight against this monstrous and powerful system when only 1-2 percent can be saved? Just imagine if that one percent was your sister, your daughter or your friend rescued from a life of unimaginable suffering, only then can we begin to understand the importance of the fight and the beauty of a life restored.
