Mount Stewart Visit

The Entertainments Committee organised a trip and guided tour of Mount Stewart.
A group from the Club visited Mount Stuart on the last day of August . . . the train to Wemyss Bay; on to the Rothesay Ferry; a bus ride along the coast; and from there into a wonderful House.
It is a treasure trove of antiques and breath-taking designs. Overhead the main hall windows feature stained glass signs of the Zodiac. They illuminate the house with shifting, colourful light depending on the season and time of day. Crystal pieces in the ceilings light up like stars.
Everywhere are ancient books, clocks, furniture and pictures of incredible beauty, rarity and value; a Chapel with another hidden; the world
